Description

Photographs brings together 30 years of work by celebrated photographer Mark Seliger, from his early assignments for Rolling Stone through his 15 years as the magazine’s chief photographer. The collection features many of his best-known portraits, including photographs of Kurt Cobain, Nelson Mandela, Leonardo DiCaprio, Barack Obama, Angelina Jolie, Bruce Springsteen, Mick Jagger, Bob Dylan and Paul McCartney, alongside previously unseen outtakes.

The book also moves beyond celebrity portraiture into Seliger’s landscape and personal work, including portraits of Holocaust survivors and transgender people on Christopher Street, as well as documentary photography from Cuba. An interview with Judd Apatow reveals the stories behind some of Seliger’s most memorable photographs, while an essay by Lyle Lovett adds another perspective to this substantial retrospective.
