Description
Leo by Deon Meyer is a South African crime thriller and the eighth book in the Benny Griessel series. Detectives Benny Griessel and Vaughn Cupido are working routine cases in Stellenbosch when the murder of a student on a mountain trail draws them into a much larger investigation.
A local businessman is found brutally murdered, while elsewhere in the country a wildlife guide becomes involved in a dangerous multi-million-dollar heist. As another former soldier and an agent linked to the country’s disgraced former president are killed, Benny and Vaughn begin to uncover a connection between the seemingly unrelated crimes. Their investigation leads them towards corruption, political connections and a planned theft that could be even more audacious.
A good choice for readers who enjoy South African crime fiction, police investigations, political corruption, military connections and fast-moving thrillers with multiple strands that gradually come together.
