Description
Super Fake Love Song by David Yoon is a contemporary YA romantic comedy about mistaken identity, fake confidence and falling in love while pretending to be someone you’re not.
Sunny Dae is used to being the nerdy, invisible kid at school. But when Cirrus Soh mistakes his older brother’s rock-star bedroom for his own, Sunny accidentally claims to be the frontman of a band. Rather than admit the truth, he convinces his friends to form a fake band and throws himself into a new rock-and-roll persona.
What starts as an elaborate lie unexpectedly changes Sunny’s life. He’s suddenly getting noticed, making friends, going to parties and becoming more confident — while his feelings for Cirrus become increasingly real. But keeping up the deception becomes harder as his two identities begin to collide.
A fun, heartfelt contemporary YA rom-com about friendship, first love, self-confidence and learning that becoming a better version of yourself doesn’t necessarily mean pretending to be someone else.
