How it started
Like most book lovers, our search for secondhand reads started online — scrolling through endless social media groups and messy classifieds. We realised how difficult it had become to just find a local secondhand copy of a favourite book without the constant risk of getting burned by dishonest sellers or paying inflated international prices.
We also saw the other side of the mess. Legitimate booksellers were struggling just as much — spending their days answering endless ‘is this still available?’ messages and chasing ‘interested’ buyers who never showed up. It felt like everyone was working too hard for what should be a simple, joyful transaction.
As readers and small business owners ourselves, we knew it shouldn’t be this difficult. We wanted a place that felt less like a cold transaction and more like wandering through a well-loved bookshop — somewhere welcoming, where the stories are respected, and the people behind the listings are real.
