Description
The Purple Emperor by Herbie Brennan is the second book in the Faerie Wars Chronicles, a YA fantasy series that follows the adventures of Henry Atherton between the human world and the realm of Faerie. Henry believes his involvement in Faerie is over until Princess Holly Blue returns to Earth seeking his help.
A plot to assassinate Pyrgus, the new Purple Emperor, threatens the Faerie Realm, while his murdered father is brought back from the dead through necromantic magic. With Lord Hairstreak and the Faeries of the Night seizing control, Pyrgus and his allies are forced into hiding. Henry returns to Faerie to help his friends, but when the portal between the two worlds goes wrong, he finds himself facing danger at every turn.
A good choice for young readers who enjoy fantasy adventures, magical worlds, faeries, quests, danger and fast-moving stories.
