Description
The narrative of Pretenders to the Throne by George Govender is a blend of fiction and non-fiction and is left to the reader’s imagination to distinguish between the two.
The focus is not about missed promotion nor competitiveness as these are common workplace occurrences! It is about victimisation, alienation of me from my work by both co-workers and top management, forceful usurping of my position by unscrupulous means and creating an absolute barrier preventing me from doing my job by all and sundry, a case of “Pretenders to the Throne”.
Whilst using me to establish policies and other measures in place, which were never adhered to, these offenders showed a flagrant abuse of power. Also, and more importantly, my many achievements were brazenly and openly plagiarised and used by senior personnel for their assessments and advancement without displaying an iota of guilt!
