Description
Before the Fall by Noah Hawley is a gripping mystery thriller about a private jet that crashes into the ocean just sixteen minutes after leaving Martha’s Vineyard. Of the eleven people on board, only struggling painter Scott Burroughs and a four-year-old boy survive. The child is the last remaining member of a hugely wealthy and influential family, putting Scott at the centre of an extraordinary tragedy.
As the investigation unfolds, the story moves between the aftermath of the crash and the lives of the passengers and crew before the flight. A Wall Street businessman, his wife, a wealthy young partygoer, a woman questioning her future and the experienced pilot all have stories and secrets of their own. As seemingly unrelated details begin to connect, the possibility that the crash was deliberate grows stronger, while media attention and public suspicion close in on Scott.
A good choice for readers who enjoy mystery thrillers, plane-crash mysteries, conspiracy plots, multiple-perspective storytelling and suspenseful novels that keep questioning what really happened.
