Description
White Hot by Sandra Brown is a romantic suspense novel set in the small Louisiana town of Destiny, where Sayre Lynch returns after the death of her younger brother, Danny. She intends to leave after the funeral, but soon becomes determined to discover what really happened to him. Her investigation draws her back into the control of her powerful father, Huff Hoyle, who owns the town’s iron foundry and has long held influence over its residents.
As Sayre uncovers old crimes, family secrets and long-standing tensions, a local deputy insists that Danny’s death was murder rather than suicide. The situation becomes even more complicated when Sayre is drawn to Beck Merchant, the lawyer working alongside her father and brother, whose own motives are far from clear. With striking workers, family rivalries and plans for revenge adding to the tension, Sayre finds herself caught in a dangerous struggle where almost everyone seems to have something to hide.
A good choice for readers who enjoy romantic suspense, family secrets, small-town intrigue, murder mysteries and emotionally charged thrillers.
