Description
The Sentinel by Lee Child and Andrew Child is the 25th novel in the Jack Reacher series, placing the former military policeman in a quiet town outside Nashville, Tennessee, where a cyber attack has brought the community to a standstill. Reacher intends to stop for coffee and move on, but when he sees an ordinary IT manager named Rusty Rutherford being targeted, he steps in. Rutherford has been blamed for the cyber attack that shut down the town, but Reacher soon suspects that there is far more behind the incident than a simple computer breach.
As Reacher investigates, the situation develops into a dangerous conspiracy involving murder, corruption and people determined to keep the truth hidden. Rusty becomes increasingly dependent on the mysterious stranger who has taken him under his protection, while Reacher works to uncover who is really behind the attack and why. First published in 2020, The Sentinel was the first Jack Reacher novel co-written by Lee Child and his brother Andrew Child, and combines action, suspense, cybercrime and political intrigue.
