Description
So This Is Ever After by F.T. Lukens is a funny and heartfelt YA fantasy romance that turns the traditional chosen-one story on its head. After defeating the evil king, eighteen-year-old Arek expects his quest to be over. Instead, he unexpectedly becomes king—and discovers that staying alive means finding a spouse before his eighteenth birthday.
With only three months to fulfil the magical condition, Arek desperately attempts to find a suitable partner among his own group of quest companions. His increasingly disastrous attempts at romance create plenty of humour, while also forcing him to reconsider what he really wants from love and friendship.
As the deadline approaches, Arek begins to realise that the person he is looking for may have been beside him all along. Combining Arthurian-inspired fantasy, adventure, friendship and queer romance, this is a playful take on what happens after the hero saves the kingdom.
Perfect for readers who enjoy YA fantasy, LGBTQ+ romance, found family, humorous adventures and subversive fairy-tale stories.
