David experienced God’s love in a way that he esteemed to be more desirable than life itself. Is that possible? Can modern man – you and I – encounter God in such a way that we would gladly exchange anything this world has to offer – even life itself – for the reality of his Presence?
For many of us life seems to get reduced to a never-changing battle with secular demands, threatening interruptions, and meaningless interactions. At best our days grind on in boring cycle of everyday routine, or at worst are filled with pain, uncertainty and despair.
Jesus Christ spoke of something better: I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full (John 10:10). Ironically, there are countless Christians who, though they have believed on and committed their lives to Christ, appear to know little or nothing of the abundant life promised by their Lord. To them this daily devotional is dedicated.
