Ethical and Honourable Transactions

Bookle is committed to conducting business ethically and honourably. Disputes should be communicated in writing to hello@bookle.co.za. While we do not take responsibility for user-uploaded content, we strive to monitor and ensure non-offensive material. If you come across any offensive content, please report it to hello@bookle.co.za. Our website is designed exclusively for the trading of books, and any other usage is prohibited.

 

Online Registration

To make a purchase, you may register on our website, or purchase as a “guest”. Click on “Register” to complete the registration form. Registration and use of our online shopping services indicate your acceptance of these terms. Safeguard your personal information, and we hold no liability for unauthorised use. You can manage your details in “My Account.”

Product Sales and Availability

All products displayed on our website are subject to availability for delivery within the Republic of South Africa. Prices are listed in South African Rands and are valid only within the Republic of South Africa. We reserve the right to discontinue products or modify their specifications without prior notice. The descriptions provided by individual vendors for their secondhand books are their own representations. Bookle does not assume responsibility for the accuracy or completeness of these descriptions. While we do not guarantee the validity of product reviews and descriptions, we appreciate your feedback on book listings and vendors.

Content Accuracy

No orders will be accepted if a material error in the description, pricing, or service details is identified on our website.

Pricing

Prices on our website are subject to availability and the delivery address. Special promotions are conditional on stock availability and limited offers. Delivery and Payment Gateway (TradeSafe) fees apply to each order.

Payment

During checkout, the total order value (including courier fees) will be reserved against your payment card. By submitting your order and payment details, you confirm authorisation and sufficient funds.

Order Confirmation

Your offer is accepted when you receive an order confirmation via email.

Delivery

Deliveries are through PUDO. We’ve outsourced delivery arrangements to this third-party provider, and we’re not liable for any loss or damage caused by them. Delivery should take place no longer than 10 days after the date of purchase.

Refund Policy

At Bookle, we place the utmost importance on ensuring our customers’ satisfaction. If you receive an item that significantly differs from its listing photo or description, we are committed to facilitating a hassle-free return and refund process.

Conditions for Initiating a Return:

  1. Notification Timing

    • Buyers must inform the vendor of their intention to return an item within 24 hours of receipt.
    • You can contact the vendor directly using the provided details or email us at hello@bookle.co.za.
    • Alternatively, utilise the “submit issue” link found in the final TradeSafe email, ensuring avoidance of clicking the “Item received” link.
  2. Item Condition: The returned item must be in its original, received condition.

  3. Payment Method: Refunds are processed solely for purchases made through the Bookle website, which integrates with the TradeSafe portal.

  4. TradeSafe Fees: Please be aware that TradeSafe fees remain non-refundable. These fees vary based on the payment method:

    • EFT: 0.75%
    • Ozow: 1.5%
    • VISA/MasterCard: 3%
    • SnapScan: 3.5% (For clarity, an example is provided)
  5. Refund Release: Refunds are initiated once the vendor confirms the receipt of the returned item.

  6. Shipping Costs: The buyer is responsible for return shipping fees.

  7. Store Policies: Any indication of “No Returns/No Refunds” or “Return not possible” in store descriptions contradicts Bookle’s Terms & Conditions. Buyers unequivocally retain the right to return items under the specified conditions.

Return Procedure:

  1. Initiate Return: Notify the vendor of your intention to return the item, providing appropriate reasons and proof.

  2. Seller’s Response: Upon mutual agreement, the vendor will furnish return details. Generally, items should be returned using the original delivery method (PUDO), unless an alternative is agreed upon.

  3. Return Shipping: Buyers have 72 hours, unless otherwise agreed, to dispatch the item back at their expense.

  4. Vendor Confirmation: On receiving the returned item, the vendor should email hello@bookle.co.za with a refund request, encompassing the order number and pertinent details.

  5. Refund Processing: Bookle will subsequently liaise with TradeSafe to effectuate the refund.

Buyer Protection with Tradesafe

Your payment is securely held by Tradesafe and only released to the seller once you’ve received and accepted your order. This ensures your money is safe until you are satisfied with your purchase.
